Lea’s Lunchroom…Lecompte, Louisiana

JackieJason2011-2541

Lea’s Lunchroom in Lecompte, Louisiana was established in 1928.

Lea Johnson was famous for his diner, his lack of a menu, and most importantly..

his pies.

Mr. Lea’s pies have been enjoyed for decades by people from all over the world.

Lecompte is a small…small town in the middle of Louisiana. When Lea opened his diner in 1928 before the Depression, before WWII, before the world wide web, the highway it sits upon was busy, and those stopping in for a bite found themselves a warm meal and a home for years to come.

Mr. Lea didn’t like the idea of a menu. He felt that if the food was good enough…people would return.

And he was right. Lea’s lunchroom is still going strong.

and the pies?….oh the pies.

Find out why I got to have a little taste of what Mr. Lea’s diner is all about and why it was considered a secret

tomorrow…
